We all thought at the beginning of 2020 that it will be the decade in which technology will advance, or we will set foot on planet Mars or robots will be a household name. But what happened? Just a few months in and we all are stuck inside our home due to the worldwide outbreak of coronavirus pandemic.

Winters and summers of 2020 have passed, and we are now talking about the monsoon season of this year. On 1st June, the government of India announced unlock 1. Many things will be opened soon, and it is estimated that in the mid of July, lockdown in India will be fully lifted. However, cases in India are peaking and currently, we are the 6th country in the world in terms of an infected person. And scientists have predicted that our country might see the second layer of COVID-19.

If you are in essential service or going out of your home for some household errands, make sure you maintain distance from people. Greet people with a head node and smile only. Even if you are going out for dining in monsoon, make sure you sit away from other people.

Take Your Vehicle for Mandatory Monsoon Servicing:
Vehicle-servicingOne of the most awful things about monsoon is that during this season you will face slippery roads. And these wet roads are the reason for several accidents.
That’s why it is advisable to take your vehicle for ‘monsoon servicing’ so that your vehicle can tackle wet roads. So, get your vehicle checked before you go out in the monsoon.

Wash Or Sanitize Your Hand:

Wash-Your-HandsThis is something that you would hear millions of times during this coronavirus pandemic. According to guidelines issued by the WHO or World Health Organisation, you need to wash your hand with soap for 20 seconds at least. You can also use an alcohol-based sanitizer.

Wear Face Mask:
Many countries, in the beginning, believed that only infected persons and people who work in essential services should wear face masks. But now many countries have made wearing a face mask in public mandatory.
And wearing a face mask during monsoon is much important as it is proven that coronavirus can travel through humid, and humidity is high in the rainy season. So, make sure you wear a face mask

Feminism or Humanity
Here we go in the 21st century, with the ever trending topic women empowerment, gender equality, feminism and so on.Where on one side we have Indra Nooyi on the other side we also have a Nirbhaya; One who shook the world with her achievement while the other with her pain.
“I think women are foolish to pretend they are equal to men; they are far superior and always have been.”
– Sir William Golding.
And why is it so? We do have Steve Jobs and Bill Gates who brought in a giant leap in technology possible and not to forget Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk. Yes, we have the male counterparts competent enough yet successful females rock the entire world more as they have an extra effort to make and break the shackles to make it up there.

Women What is the extra step a female would have to take? It is certainly – protecting her character, going against the societal norms, convincing her family and then probably focusing on her vision. This extra effort is the root for bringing in women empowerment or so called feminism! Feminism is not wrong but humanity is the essence. What if we just treated women as a human being? What if new born Lakshmi and Lakshman are welcomed with the same zeal. What if we would not force her into societal norms and let her be free to follow her dreams. What if she doesn’t have to succumb to some devil’s lust and her family will feel more secure to let her out even at late nights. She will succeed so shall you. Not to forget even the mighty men have become victims to this insanity many a times. So why let the gender speak?

The thought of ‘She is a woman’ or ‘He is a man’ will never make gender equality possible unless we treat them all with same love and care as a fellow human with same needs and dreams like ourselves. It is not bringing gender equality or feminism that we should focus on but humanity should be the aim and will make a success story for generations together.
Wishing all my ladies a very happy and powerful Women’s day. Let us all bring the change we want to see in 2020.
